My Journey to Right Now
My love of learning started at an early age, when I learned to read at the age of 4. Grandpa Victor taught me early on that there was nothing worse in life than wasting your talent. So, I’ve been a voracious learner all my life.
I’ve been fascinated with technology since I began working my way through college. And, worked at building businesses since the late eighties.
My stint working for a multi-million insurance consortium led to becoming its Controller and CIO. During that time, I became a CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
Then I joined Fortune 300 companies serially. Starting with AT&T, then AON, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, United Guaranty (an AIG subsidiary), LabCorp and CVS. During my stint in cubicle nation, I honed my skills in developing infrastructure, process development, process improvement and project management.
As I spent time working in my patch of cubicles, I grew more and more unhappy. Something was awry. I found myself tied to a reputation for excellence that, ironically, enslaved me to the same-ol'. The money I made wasn’t enough. I wasn't learning anything real and hadn’t the freedom I longed for.
By chance, I attended a class with the late Thomas Leonard and was hooked. I decided that being in business for myself was the ticket out.
In preparation, I became a certified coach at Coach Training Alliance. And, completed the Online Business Manager Training & Certification Program at Certified OBM. I also earned my certification as a Money Mentor from MentorPath.
It was during this period that I discovered I came from a strong lineage of shamans. It became obvious to me, that in burying myself in all the left-brain stuff, I had also buried my heart, lost my spirit for a long while.
I spent years untangling myself.
The Business-Heart Whisperer
Oh, yes, I am a spiritual nerd. I see the reality of mundane things and the hyper-reality of the unseen, twined together.
And, I love putting tools to use. I love making things (processes, tools, visions come to life). My passion is for you to love the grand vision of your future.
Along the way, I discovered that some of the most meaningful experiences were the hardest to find. The most frustrating to learn. It became clear to me that a lot of gifted gurus don't know how to listen to the heart of a business. There! I'd found my calling as the business heart whisperer.
I know how it feels to break free. To feel the joy of pursuing heartfelt passions. Of being:
... In alignment with my beliefs. I want to do more than just build your business systems. I want to help you realize your dream.
... Committed to being a heart-center business. I want to help you build yours too.
... A steward for you, using my expertise with technology and processes to help you when it is difficult for you to use those things.
… And doing it all with lovingkindness
About Me — What I Love
I love art and can’t draw a straight line.
My most secret dream is to create art with fabric. My first project is a portrait of Savannah using fabric.
I love Van Gogh’s paintings. They seem so alive. The stars dance in the evening sky to my eyes.
I am passionately interested in physics and astronomy. Yet I don’t have the advanced mathematics to let me be a serious student. So I content myself with the layman’s version.
I love vintage science fiction. And Star Trek TNG (think I had a crush on Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard). If I had the money, I’d pay to go into outer space. That’s where humanity’s future lays.
I love living in North Carolina, amid the trees and the hawks that nest in the woods next to the house. (Hawk is one of my animal guides.)
About Me -The Woman
I was born in Cuba and I grew up in NYC.
I’ve survived war and worse things.
My eyes are brown, and my hair maintains its color (only my hairdresser knows for sure). I am as blind as a bat, having worn glasses since I was a child.
My husband’s name is Ken. I have two adult sons, Robert Douglas and Nicholas. And, a daughter-in-law named Melanie.
I have a mini-me of a granddaughter for whom I would do anything. Her name is Savannah and she is a testament that genetics can skip generations.
We live with two Silky terriers named Taffy and Monster whom I adore. They sleep with us snuggled tight against my body. It makes me feel safe and secure.
I’m sort of a poet. I’ve been writing blank verse since I was a teen. Writing has gotten me through the worst of my troubles.
This is me, here and now.
Luckily, it is all subject to change without notice.
